Paper Pulp Lamps
Ideation / Inspiration
These lamps were almost an accident. I had molds I had been using with foam and resin, and when I began testing how to shape paper pulps, I first used these molds. I found that paper shrinks slightly as it dries, so monotonic one piece molds were perfect.
As for the form, my grandmother’s favorite flower is the Callalily. That flower served as the primary inspiration for the initial lampshade shape.
Process
Design and 3D prints molds, hand apply paper pulp to the interior of the mold, wait for the shade to dry, seal finished shades.
